Every piece is cut from the same 300 thread count organic cotton sateen, so the whole bed feels the same under your hand.

The fabric is 100% organic cotton woven as a sateen, GOTS certified by Oregon Tilth under license GOTS-10229, the same certified cloth as our pillow shells and covers. Four threads pass over one, which puts more thread on the surface and gives the sheet its smooth glide and soft, low sheen. At 300 thread count it is dense enough to feel substantial and open enough to breathe. We count single yarns, not plies; the FTC said in 2005 that counting plies to inflate the number would likely mislead consumers. Why we stopped at 300.
The color is natural. The cotton is not bleached and not dyed, so the tone is a warm, light ivory with the gentle variation that comes with unbleached fiber. Cotton sateen softens with every wash.
Organic farming means no synthetic pesticides, no synthetic fertilizers and no genetically engineered seed under the USDA definition. Read what actually changes with organic cotton sheets.
No bleach, no dye, no polyester and no microfiber. The sheets are undyed, unbleached organic cotton sateen, sewn with cotton thread, with elastic around the fitted sheet so it stays put. The natural ivory color can vary slightly between batches.

The fitted sheet has a 15 inch pocket. Measure the full depth of your mattress, including any topper, and compare the listed dimensions before ordering. Wash cold and dry low to keep the fit true, and contact us if you need help checking fit.

Check the size before washing, then follow the care label. Washed or used bedding is not eligible for a standard return.
- Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent
- Tumble dry low, or line dry when you can. Heat is what wears cotton out
- Take the sheets out while they are still slightly warm and fold them or make the bed right away. Sateen sets its creases as it cools, and this is the whole secret to a smooth bed without ironing
- Skip bleach, fabric softener and dryer sheets. Softener coats the fiber and dulls the sheen, and the sheets soften on their own
- For a mark, dab with cold water and a drop of detergent before washing. Hot water sets most stains

The Fabric
Woven to be slept in
Sateen places more thread on the surface than a plain weave, giving the fabric a smooth feel and soft drape. Our sheet fabric is woven from organic cotton at 300 thread count and left undyed and unbleached. Wash cold, dry low, and it gets softer with every wash.

Sheet Set Questions
Yes. The pillowcases are Standard 20 x 26 inches, Queen 20 x 30 inches and King 20 x 36 inches, cut to match MAREA pillow sizes, and they slip right over our zip on cover.
Sateen. The weave gives the fabric a smooth feel and soft sheen, where percale is crisper and matte. This set is 300 thread count organic cotton sateen, counted as single yarns rather than plies, the way the FTC said thread count should be stated.
Cotton is a breathable fiber; Cotton Incorporated describes humidity passing through cotton fabric rather than sitting against the skin. These sheets are 100% organic cotton sateen, with no polyester or microfiber.
The fabric is undyed and unbleached, leaving a warm natural ivory with a little variation from batch to batch. Skipping bleach and dye also skips two of the heaviest chemical steps in making a sheet.
Cotton can shrink a little, especially with heat, so wash cold and dry low. The fitted sheet has a 15 inch pocket; measure your mattress including any topper before you order.
