Kapok is a silky plant fiber gathered by hand from the seed pods of kapok trees growing wild in Indonesian rainforests. Nothing is farmed, sprayed, or chemically treated. Each strand is a hollow tube that is mostly air, which is why kapok lofts like down while staying entirely plant based. This is the exact same fiber we fill every MAREA pillow with, packed loose.
The 3 lb bag tops up one pillow that has settled over time. The 5 lb bag gives one pillow a complete refresh or tops up two. Open the hidden zipper on your pillow, add kapok a handful at a time, and stop when the loft feels right. Give the pillow a good fluff to distribute the new fiber evenly. The whole process takes a few minutes, and any extra kapok stores in its sealed bag until you need it.
